Pandemic Chronicles #20: Fire by Night-A Historic Moment
Here it is November 2020 and we are having our first Fire By Night Live Service
We haven't had a full service at church since March 2020.
The last time we had a Young Adult service was in January and it was outstanding
BUT....there is more. There was always more.
Since that service, there have been many changes in the Impact Ministry. These changes were much needed and I believe God answered the fervent prayers of the righteous. We were crying out and he did deliver.
I learned so much as an intercessor from that experience because when God shows us things it's so that we are able to pray into the situation and intercede.
It's not so we can go accusing people of being witches, demons, condemning them to Hell, and discussing the situation with our friends. As Sister Patricia Wardley said so wisely in my Foundations class At Shiloh, "It's to pray and not say".
As I've learned, God sees all and he hears all. Did you know he sees, hears, and knows more than we do? He will take care of everything. I mean EVERYTHING. You can even pray that he physically removes harmful people and He will do it.
ANYWAY
I'm excited about this service because I believe it's the First Wave of Revival at Shiloh Oakland. People will be saved, healed, delivered, and set free. I have believed that the initial harvest is in the House of the Lord.
Judgment starts with the House of God so maybe it's the same for revival and what we have seen in this time is that the young adults have been the most affected. A lot of it is because they never had a firm foundation in Christ, to begin with. Due to all of the poor teaching and false teaching, God was just a genie in the bottle you gotta rub Him the right way.
Honestly, as Pastor YPJ posted several months again I think that time is up for the celebrity pastor. They will go away and never be heard from again. As he said many of the "heroes" are going to be exposed as the wolves they actually are. It's unfortunate but enough is enough.
I truly believe that this is a Historic Moment. I believe that those of us at Shiloh Oakland are about to cross over the Jordan and enter into the revival that we've dreamed about.
Crossing Over the Jordan
Lately, I've been enamored by the story of Joshua leading the children of Israel across the Jordan River
Here it was harvest time, the Jordan was overflowing, and the people had to get across to go into the Land they had been promised. How was this going to happen? It was impossible
BUT GOD!!
They had to stand on faith because The Land was already given to them so now they just needed to get across the Obstacle
, 2 “Moses My servant is dead; so now arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. 3 Every place on which the sole of your foot steps, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses.
God was with them and no River and nobody else was going to stop them
. 5 No one will be able to oppose you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not desert you nor abandon you.6 Be strong and courageous, for you shall give this people possession of the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
Crossing the Jordan
The Presence of the Lord was with them
When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God with the Levitical priests carrying it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it. 4 However, there shall be a distance between you and it of about [a]two thousand cubits by measurement. Do not come near it, so that you may know the way by which you shall go, for you have not passed this way before.”
The Lord displayed His Mighty Power and they were led by the Priest
8 So you shall command the priests who are carrying the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you come to the edge of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’”
17And the priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan while all Israel crossed on dry ground, until all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan.
Like the Israelites, We will cross over
The Israelites crossed over their obstacle, The Jordan River after God made a way.
This was after all the Pitiful Petes, Pathetic Pams, and the disobedient unbelieving crowd died out in the wilderness. Now here was the faithful including the only True believers Joshua and Caleb crossing over the Jordan to head into the Promised Land.
There's always a thinning of the Herd before a great move of God. We saw it with Gideon before he went to war, The Children of Israel before they went into the Promised Land, and the disciples before the Holy Spirit came.
They were led by the priests carrying the Ark of the Covenant. You always need the carriers of His Presence to be the first to step out in faith. So shall it be with our ministry This Weekend as we contend for souls and for revival among our Young Adults.
How Revival Came to Azusa Street: Waiting on the Lord.
In the Upper Heidi Scanlon, Pastor of Prayer at National Community Church said: When they asked survivors of the Azuza Street Revival about how revival came to Los Angeles. They all said independently of one another
That is how Revival Came to Los Angeles and that is how it came to the disciples in the Book of Acts.
Acts 1:8
8 but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”
They started out with 500 people and ended up with 120 when the fire fell from heaven. 380 people decided not to wait on the Lord and they missed out on that amazing move of God.
Let that not be us!
Lead us, Lord, by your Presence as the "Fire by Night" service is so well named
Exodus 13:21
And the Lord was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, so that they might [a]travel by day and by night.
It is SO!
