Pandemic Chronicles #5: The Relief in the Release
I must admit we're about 6-7 weeks into the shutdown and I am getting antsy. I was so annoyed last week that it seemed everything was getting on my nerves.
I decided to take action by not simply focusing on myself this time and serve others.
Our church designated Wednesday as our prayer and fasting day. One of the sisters at church had a great idea: She used her social media to ask for prayer requests and Direct Message people for prayer requests so I did the same.
I'm glad I did it.
I'm glad I pushed past my feelings of being annoyed, antsy, and bored to reach out and encourage others.
However I wasn't ready for the huge relief I got by releasing outcomes and relief.
So many times we tell God, "Here I am Send Me" and then we want to ask 20 Questions about where we're going and go on a fact finding mission about where we are going.
That's not what God has called us to. He's called us to go, be his ambassadors, allow the Holy Spirit to work through us, and glorify Him. We're not supposed to glorify ourselves or make it about us.
I like how it was put in this Christianity Today article about caring for souls by Harold Senkbell
But your interest in these things is never personal; you are there on errand and commission. You’re an ambassador and minister of Christ; Jesus intends to do his work through you.
Whenever they arise, you deal with those things appropriately with the tools entrusted to you, but you never go digging for dirt. That’s Satan’s work; he is the accuser.
Now you’ve been sent to do Christ’s work, you’ve been made a minister of his gospel, to set free people long held captive to sin and give them a good conscience before God.
There's a relief when you release the word of God and when you release words of life into people. I have to tell you that even after that day of praying for others I was still cranky and antsy but I maintained that God was (and still is) on the move. He's doing things in the spirit we can't even grasp.
There are things we release by His Spirit in the natural when we speak the word of God.
I firmly believe chains break, people are set free, lives are healed, and there is transformation when we speak the word of the Lord into people. This doesn't happen by power, by might, but only by the Holy Spirit. That's the only way this happens is by the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name.
There are things that happen when we let go of our own agenda and take up his agenda. There is a RELEASE that happens and it brings RELIEF.
You may not see it in the natural when it happens but there is peace and there is confirmation/
So let me reiterate that God is on the move.
In this hour of Pandemic and stand still in the natural, there is much pruning happening in the spirit.
The word in this Hour: Repentance
We as the church must repent for how we've left our first love.We need to repent for not lifting up Jesus but lifting up ourselves.
We must repent for watering down the gospel and making it about everything else but salvation.
We must repent for getting so caught up in church work that we completely forgot about Jesus and saving souls.
We must repent for being lukewarm
The good thing about God is that he always warns us and gives us chances to turn and repent. See: Ancient Israel. He kept giving them the opportunities to turn from their idolatry but they continued on because they thought they were God's chosen people but they learned the hard way that God means what he says.
If we don't turn....we will be held accountable
Those that have been walking in deception and taking advantage of God's people will be exposed if they do not repent.2 Corinthians 7:10
10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
Shallow "ministries" which were for personal gain will disappear, wither on the vine, and will go down in flames.
Those that ran for the microphone to be seen by others, were "playing church", and not bearing fruit will have to take a seat as God raises up those that were in the shadows and those that may seem like the least likely to be at the forefront.
Many churches will close down because they weren't bearing fruit and their members will come to full salvation.
God is on the Move: It's harvest Time
Many of us believe that we are on the cusp of the 21st Century Great Awakening...The Great Harvest and Revival.
Hallelujah!!
Remember in order to have revival something has to be dead. I believe God is killing our sense of normalcy and doing church. It's about to be Go time. The Laborers are assembling and even those that are unlikely shall begin to prophesy and come forth.
We will need everyone to rise up because the enemy has blinded many!
God is on the Move!!
There is Relief in the Release!!
And we must not get weary in well doing but...
